Frequently Asked Question!
- How long have you been in business?
- What makes you different from your competitors?
- From where do you operate?
- Do you accept returns/exchanges over and above what customers are entitled to by law (i.e., a replacement/repair for a minor fault or refund for a major fault)?
- Do you allow refunds for a change of mind? If so, how long do customers have to contact you?
- To where do you ship? How long does it take you to process an order before it is dispatched?
- Where are your packages shipped from?
- Do you ship packages internationally?
- How do you price your postage? You can link to your postage page.
- Tracking (We’ll use Australia Post as an example, but you can use any shipping carrier like Canada Post, USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- What does “In-transit” mean for Australia Post tracking?
- Something you may want to cover for your customers is that “In-transit” means that you have dispatched the goods to your postal office, and that they are travelling to the destination postal dispatch centre or post office, where a local driver or delivery person will be picking them up.
- What does “No Events Found” mean for Australia Post tracking?
- You’ll need to tell them that this is normal and that some packages show nothing on the tracking number lookup until they get to the destination post office or postal centre near the delivery point. Many Parcel Post Plus and even Express Packages going outside the Australia Post delivery network will show as “No Events Found” until the day they are going to be delivered. The customer can sometimes be able to contact Australia Post for more information.
- What does “In-transit” mean for Australia Post tracking?
- What payment methods do you accept?
- If you accept bank transfer, how long do customers have to make the payment before their order is cancelled and items returned to stock?
- Do you offer lay-bys? If so, can you provide a link to your terms and conditions?
- Loyalty points
- Do you offer loyalty points or reward points, gift certificates, etc.?
See our full refund policy in our terms and conditions to find out the amount refunded.
We do offer refunds but only for a certain amount of days after the initial registration. In general, we do not offer refunds or part-refunds if you decide not to proceed with your store or cancel your store during a billing period.
However, you are free to cancel your plan at any time, and in the case of monthly plans you won’t have to pay for the next month. What you have paid for the current month will not be refunded.
If you are under a semi-annual or an annual plan, you can only receive a refund if you are within the amount of days mentioned in our Refund Policy. No refund is given after those days.
What shipping prices you show to your customers depend on your business strategy for pricing shipping. You may for example choose to build the shipping costs into your product and offer customers free shipping, offer flat rates, charge based on the destination and weight or number of items, or use an automated/realtime calculator provided by one of the shipping providers like Australia Post.
The Real Time calculators supported for shipping services in Ozcart include:
- Australia Post – retail rates for letters, parcels, prepaid satchels and international services (Economy, Standard, Express, Courier)
Some of these courier services require that you have accounts set up with them before they will authorise your website to look up shipping prices.
You can also choose to set up a flat rate per state or manual shipping options with tables of rates based on item cost, number of items or weight to specific geographic areas that you pre-define. This can be useful if you are working with a courier service that does not have a built in calculator or you have specific shipping pricing that is not covered by the standard calculators.
